This 40ft passenger launch, Foam, designed in accordance with Nigel Irens to MCA and Sea Fish specifications, was launched in April 2007 and is currently in service ferrying up to 42 passengers to and from Caldy Island in Pembrokeshire, South Wales. Marine engineers and electricians at Old Mill Boatyard installed the engine and electronics to impeccable standards. The success of this project represents a remarkable and unique synergy of traditional wooden boat building skills and modern technology and requirements unusual in ship building yards of today. |
